Education Morning 1st November about AI & Art Education

On this day we have 3 workshops about AI and Art Education:

Open Source AI tools – Florian Cramer / Most people are familiar with AI tools developed by corporations and offered as proprietary black boxes, such as ChatGPT, Dall-E, Midjourney, or Google Translate. Fewer people know that there are powerful, community-developed open source alternatives that give artists and designers more freedom because they run locally on your own computer, often allow more customisation, are less mainstreamed, and often come directly from current experimental AI research. This workshop will introduce a number of them, along with practical instructions on how to use them and how to make them accessible to students.

Mission AI – Brigit Lichtenegger & Han Hoogebrugge / We started our AI research in September. We will share the results, thoughts and experiments we have so far, and discuss our mission to explore the creative possibilities of AI, beyond “just” automatizing. Even though our project is quite young, we are very much open to feedback, and your thoughts on AI within an arts context.

Basic AI for beginner – Vicky Nijdam-Nguyen / If you’re new to AI, this workshop will provide you with insights into the capabilities of ChatGPT, DALL-E, Midjourney, and more through live demonstrations. We will also address frequently asked questions about AI, with a particular emphasis on art and visual generation. Furthermore, we’ll engage in discussions regarding the future of art education. During the workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to explore and test these tools with provided test accounts.

Students are also invited to lead the discussion within this workshop.
